Safety after COVID-19
Inside our offices, the air you are breathing has been specially cleaned and purified using a state-of-the-art UV light-powered HVAC system.
While masks are still required in this office, our purification system helps keep the air cleaner and safer for both our patients and staff.
How does it work?
With an increased ionized hydro-peroxide output and an enhanced catalyst with zinc, our HVAC system purifies every cubic inch of air you are breathing. It is effective against common pollutants such as particulates, microbials, and gases.
The system has been thoroughly tested to safely remove the risks of airborne and surface bacteria, mold spores and viruses, such as MRSA, E. coli, and Norwalk.
At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Valley Oral Surgery closed our Bethlehem and Lehighton locations to elective patient visits. Our Allentown location remained open for emergency cases only. This was done in accordance with PA Department of Health guidelines to help reduce the spread of the virus and help keep patients and the public as safe as possible.
Now that Pennsyvlania has begun reopening, Valley Oral Surgery is pleased to announce that it has begun scheduling non-emergency appointments. We are following guideline put forth by American Dental Association, AAMOS, PSOMS and CDC science-based best practices. Here’s what can be expected at your next appointment.
Before Your Appointment
At the time of scheduling your appointment, a staff member will ask you series of COVID-19 screening questions.
During Your Appointment
Please limit the number of people you bring to your appointment to yourself and at most one other person, if required for safe driving.
Pennsylvania requires people to wear masks in public spaces, so please be sure to wear one to your appointment. When you arrive, you may be asked to wait outside until we are ready for your appointment time. This will reduce the number of people in our office and reduce the amount of time you are in close proximity to other people. When you enter our office, you will have your temperature taken and asked a series of COVID-19 screening questons.
Inside the office, you may notice most things in the waiting room, such as magazines, have been removed. Hand sanitizer is available for you to use, as well. We will also wipe down items you touch, such as pens, clipboards, or furniture.
When you are in the procedure rooms, you may notice some things look different from the last time you were there. The staff and doctors will also be wearing different protective equipment than has been seen at previous appointments. This may include different masks, face shields, gowns, and goggles. These additional precautions help protect both you and your medical team.
After Your Appointment
At the completion of your appointment, our staff will thoroughly clean and disinfect the treatment room using disinfectants that are effective against the virus that causes COVID-19 to prepare for the next patient.
If you begin feeling ill with symptoms of COVID-19 within 14 days of your appointment, be sure to contact us. This will allow us to notify patients and staff with whom you may have been in contact to help contain the spread of the virus.
The team at Valley Oral Surgery places the highest priority on your health and safety.
